Privacy Policy

3. Why this data is used

TapBand processes data only for the functionality requested by the user:

• to record each participant's voice during a TapBand session;
• to combine recorded parts into the final song on the device;
• to send the requested text prompt for AI lyric generation;
• to return and display the generated lyrics inside the app; and
• to operate, secure and troubleshoot the service where necessary.

4. Third-party processing and sharing

Groq

TapBand uses Groq as an AI service provider for lyric generation. Only the text required for the AI request is sent to Groq. Voice recordings are never sent to Groq.

Groq states that customer inputs and outputs from standard inference requests are not retained by default, except in limited circumstances such as service reliability or abuse investigations, where they may be retained temporarily. Audiovook does not sell user data and does not share TapBand user data with third parties for advertising or behavioural profiling.

5. Security

Text sent to the AI service is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Voice recordings remain on the user's device and therefore are not transmitted over the network by TapBand. Access to the microphone is controlled by Android's permission system and can be revoked in the device settings.

6. Retention and deletion

Voice recordings

Voice recordings are stored locally for the TapBand session. They are deleted at the end of the session, and the user can also delete local recordings from within the app where that option is available.

AI request text

TapBand does not maintain a user account or a server-side personal history of song prompts. Text transmitted to Groq is subject to Groq's current retention rules for inference requests. Groq currently states that inputs and outputs are not retained by default, with limited temporary retention possible for reliability and abuse monitoring.

7. Accounts and account deletion

TapBand does not require or provide user accounts. Therefore, there is no TapBand account profile or account-associated personal data to delete. Local recordings can be removed from the device as described above.

8. Children and educational use

TapBand may be used in group and educational settings. The app is designed so that voice recordings remain on the device and are not uploaded. Users, parents, guardians and educators should avoid entering a child's full name, contact details, health information or other sensitive personal information into the text fields used for AI lyric generation.

9. International data processing

The AI service used by TapBand may process data outside the European Economic Area. Groq states that retained customer data is hosted in the United States and that, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses can be used for international transfers.

10. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights concerning personal data, including rights of access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or data portability. Because TapBand does not create user accounts and voice recordings remain on the device, Audiovook may hold little or no information that can be linked back to a particular user.

To make a privacy request, email info@audiovook.com. Users in the European Economic Area also have the right to lodge a complaint with their competent data protection authority.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when TapBand's features, service providers or legal requirements change. The current version will always be published on this page with its latest revision date.
